Talents are vitally supposed to be honed and improved but with the wrath that the pandemic has caused, talents stayed too long in the abditory. After a three-year pause from competitions and recreational activities, it felt futile for other artists to reboot and perform again like they used to.
As the Regional Festival of Talents commence again, student-performers and student-artists have taken the challenge to restart and find light in labyrinth. Improving their craft and aiming for progress were their objectives they thrive to obtain. Pursuing their dreams after an extensive break is indeed a big mountain to move. Focusing on every angle of their masterpiece and meticulously taking glance to every bit of their work to achieve its greatest outcome is commendable. In spite of the hindrances that tried them to pull off from taking the path of progress, student-artists remained steadfast in retaining the fire ablaze. With the help of their mentors and support system, being back on track again would not be possible. Immense confidence and power are keys to fulfil our shortcomings, traits which are commonly difficult to have.
Having this festival being reopened again, it drives participants to possess the feeling of motivation, the urge of their talents to be alive and kicking once again. Colourful festivities, dances, music, thought-provoking debates and speeches; these are only few of the competitions and performances that will pursue once more. RFOT 2023 is a gateway for young-artists to be their creative selves, the chance to showcase their products of hardwork and determination. Others may see this event only for entertainment but little do they know that this means a lot for young artists. It opens an opportunity for them to interact with their fellow, sharing each other’s ideas, and making a bridge of friendship. RFOT is not merely for our eyes to appreciate only what’s in front of us but to also appreciate their sacrifices and hardworks usually done behind the stage. As we spotlight participants’ enthusiasm, may their talents never go in vain just because of the hurdles they encounter nowadays. Their impeccable passion for their work deserves applause.
Through understanding the process of crafting their masterpieces, our appreciation of art continues to deepen. This RFOT shows that even at their nadirs, they don’t fail to impress the audiences. Proving that they can arise from appalling occasions and that they can fight even in lassitude. Indeed, their resilience in these trying times is not easy. Festival of Talents participants, from the District level to National, are evident examples that talented Filipino young learners are striving for the best and only for the best. Showcasing not only their masterpieces but also their passion for this field, a testament that their skills are compellingly elysian despite the obstacles
